Improving Cultural Services

Cultural connections is an Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IdEA) resource. It shows how cultural projects can contribute to and enhance the shared priorities agreed between central government and the Local Government Association (LGA), to raise standards across schools.

A Passion For Excellence is publication produced jointly between the cultural agencies, DCMS and the Local Government Association (LGA) publication. This resource outlines a framework for improvement in the culture and sport sector.

English Heritage has published a document that outlines its commitment to support local authorities and their partners in capitalising on the heritage of a place through Local Area Agreements. The document outlines how the historic environment contributes to LAA outcomes and details how English Partnership should work with Local Strategic Partnerships.

The Historic Environment Local Management website: Sets the broad principles of English Heritage’s vision for the historic environment as an integral part of the Community and Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategies. It outlines how the historic environment contributes to regeneration in both social and economic terms. It is intended to be of assistance to Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) as their strategies are developed and updated.
