Yorkshire and Humber Regional Spatial Strategy

Regional Spatial Strategy Adopted May 2008

Introduction

The Yorkshire and Humber Plan will provide a statutory basis for the review of local development frameworks produced by local authorities. The current Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) includes a broad development strategy for the region, setting out regional priorities in terms of location and scale of development. The Yorkshire and Humber Assembly is working to update the plan (2009 Update) to look at housing growth in the region. The 2009 Update will test and explore the scale of growth, locations for growth and infrastructure needed to accommodate growth.

The assembly is proposing to develop an Implementation Action Plan for the RSS, which will look more specifically at questions such as ‘what will be done’, ‘when’, ‘how much’, and ‘resource allocation’ - in terms of delivering the plan policies.
